Trim sagging

I have an 2013 Eagle 26.5 rks that has developed trim sagging under the front bunk when loaded on the truck. When you unhook and take the weight off of it the trim goes back to normal. This problem occurred last year so I took the trailer into the dealer and they installed 3” screws. On our travels this year for holidays it was starting to do it again. Took it back to the dealer and they said that they should have installed 4.5” screws into the trim not 3”. They replaced the screws on their dime. Now we are waiting to see if the problem is fixed. If not they are talking about doing a 16 hour tear down on the trailer to see why it’s doing this which will be going through my insurance once again. I really don’t know if they have to cut into the side walls for this tear down. I’m really not up for them doing that as it will mess up the integrity of the walls . Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Very common problem discussed many times over the years. Long screws in the frame is the way to make it go away.

Our 5th developed this problem and I repaired it with 3 or 3.5” deck screws. Problem has not returned.

Many of us have not only used longer screws but also doubled up on the number of screws.

Trim sagging fixed?

We just took our rv our for the weekend when we returned we saw the trim saving about a 1/16 of an inch The only way you can notice it is from the old caulking on the trailer. I think there will always be a bit of flex no matter what you do. This will have to do for now I guess

I don't want to 5er, but I'm curious: why should there be any sag at all? Does not this imply that the chassis is bending?

Here is a link to my post on this exact issue.

The original screws put in at manufacturing are not long enough, and do not go up to the aluminum frame. Put in longer screws that will reach the frame and you should be fine. I've had no problem with mine since I did that.
