TV Antenna on Eagle Ht 26.5

Is it normal for the TV Antenna on our Jayco Eagle HT 26.5 2011 model to not lay flat on the roof when in closed position?

I just looked at mine and its flat on the roof. Maybe you have the antenna rotated ever so slightly and its not aligning with the antenna base.

Yep, you gotta line up the arrows on the discs (inside by the crank). Mine lays flat except for a small rubber grommet that keeps it from tearing the roofing material. BTW, I couldn't see your picture.

I checked and it wasn't lined up. Did that and it still does t go all the way down. The spring between the handle and ceiling keeps getting off center as I crank it closed. I think that is keeping it from going all the way down. Might have to take the handle apart and realign the spring and gasket I suspect. Thanks for the post as I wasn't certain if it should go all the way down.

There is a hole through which you need to put lubrication located on the antennae base. You will need to climb up on the roof and find a small black plug. Remove the plug put some lub down there and replace the plug. That should take care of the spring getting off-center and should make the antenna work much better. You may want to lube the antennae gear also, since you will already be up on the roof.

It is definitely supposed to lie completely flat on the roof when it's down.

I use spray silicone. You need to attach the small plastic nozzle (tube) in order to direct the spray into the hole and on the gears, keeping any spray away from the roofing material. While you are up there, maybe you could have someone inside the RV operate the antennae to see if there is anything obstructing its operation .
