TV Antenna Question

Hey Everyone, last year I met a guy that was watching TV outside and I noticed he had a small TV antenna hooked up to his ladder. I struck up a conversation with him and he told me that he could pull in over a hundred local channels when I could only get around 5 or 6. So this is my question. If I get an antenna for my 2020 387RDFS, where do I plug the cable in? The antennas now have remotes just like the ones for our TVs. And secondly, will the antenna work all three TVs? I’m a little puzzled by the hook up configuration. Thanks in advance!

I believe you can plug in the antennae cable to the "Cable Input Jack" on your rig, and you should get reception on all 3 tv's. Not sure if the built-in signal booster (green button) should be on or off. I suppose it depends on whether or not the antennae has a built-in booster. Also, not sure if your tv should be set for "Over-the-Air" or "Cable" signal. My guess is OTA, but I'm sure someone else will chime in with the correct answers.

Good luck and Happy Camping!

Was the antenna powered? Did you get the brand. I have a set of powered rabbit ears at home and they do fine when the satellite is out.

In the rv, if using the cable input the built in antennas would be off.

I don’t think it was powered. He just pointed in the general direction of the closest big city about 25 miles away, and he pulled in a lot of channels. He was telling me that the Omni-directional antennas that come with new rigs have a very limited range, whereas the standalone antennas can reach close to a hundred miles.

The new digital signals are prone to pixelate easily from interference. Most any OTA signal would need an amplifier for a acceptable signal strength.

The closer you are to a station or it's repeater the more and better stations you will pick up.

We have a app on our phone that helps but tv watching is not a priority most places we camp.
