Big unit, pin weight is getting up there when loaded, as it notes nearly 2900lbs dry.

Solid dually territory in my opinion given pin weight and length - have one for towing a Seismic - or at the very least a recent single 350 class truck.

I towed one a short distance - about 125 miles for a friend with my 2021 F350 7.3 Gas motor SRW. I would not want to do that as my permanent setup!

I tow our Pinnacle 36FBTS with a 2021 Ram 3500 Cummins, long bed, SRW and air ride with no issues whatsoever. We share the same GVWR with the Northpoint although ours is 2' shorter. I saw a GM pickup, 3/4 ton, not a new model, with big tires pulling a Toy hauler in the campground in SC last week, not a monster size toy hauler, but still sizable, with a trailer behind it and a golf cart. I am guessing it was a diesel but couldn't tell. That looked over the top for sure.

You will be wishing you did if you don't.

Hi there i have a northpoint 381dlq when i picked it up i had a new 2018 f350 it did the job fine power was fine but it would roll a bit in the corners, so i decided to go to a 2021 f450 better turning better brakes and so stable i also put disc brakes on my fifth wheel how jayco or any manufactures get away with 1950 electric brakes i dont know if you live in the rockies you will soon find out what brake fade is all about.hope you find the right truck.

I pull my 17 Northpoint 375BHFS with a 2015 3500 crew cab Duramax dually and wouldnt pull it with anything less, especially the DRW. Pulls and handles with no issues.
Truck is coming out of winter nap tomorrow morning, hooking up to the Northpoint and going on a little roadtrip for the day.

Get the biggest truck you can afford.

1 Ton SRW Diesel - will get the job done, but will be very close on weight limits
1 Ton DRW Diesel - Best choice, better weight limits and great stability.
450 DRW Diesel - Exceptional choice, no worries on weight, great stability

Hope this helps.

I’m disabled so my wife drives and refuses to drive a dually or long bed because we are full time and she doesn’t want to try to park one when we are out and about even with larger handicap parking.

So… we pull our 2018 377RLBH with a 2019 GMC 3500 Denali SRW Duramax. The exhaust brake and cruise control work together flawlessly going down mountains and actuthey work so well together that we didn’t even know our brakes completely broke apart at some point. Have no idea when it happened, only discoveit when I tried to lube the bearings.

We frequently weigh our trailer as we are still trying to nail down our weight even after 18 months traveling, moving every 2 to 3 weeks and have been a couple hundred pounds over max trailer weight (but well with the axle and tire capacity) and pretty much exactly at the max pin weight for the truck.

If you are within a couple states of Indiana, you can find 1 to 2 year old trucks with what seems like excessive miles but they are used by the teams that tow the trailers from the manufacturers to dealers all over the country. We bought ours at 1 year old with 47k miles for about 2/3 what it would have cost new.

Oh, and to save weight in the bed and enable my petite wife to be able to remove our hitchif necessary, we are using the Anderson Ultimate hitch. Love it, highly recommend it and yes my 5’3 little lady can install and remove it without any help although she does like to be coached since we’ve only needed to do it twice.

Definitely recommend a dually. We actually had a tire go flat on our dually and if it wasn't for the noise coming from the engine (another story) we would not have known. We have a super duty/crew cab/long bed. DW loves driving it.

Parking is an issue. When DW had her TKR, we parked in a handicapped spot, but we used the one that went sideways instead of pull in. We normally park in the back 40, pulling through the site (instead of trying to back out) and definitely pull the mirrors in.

Just my $0.02:
31 RETS, 38 feet.
Pull with a 2016 Ram 2500, with 6500# rear axle, Cummins, 3.42 gears.
Pulls over I-70 no problem.
It is enough truck for the fiver., in my engineering opinion.

Prob need to clarify this a bit. F450 actually has less rated payload capacity than an equivalent F350 due to the differences in running gear. The underlying frame is the same on the current model.

Weight ratings for a Chassis/Cab F450 are different, as it has a different rear frame section and springs. They would need to get a bed installed, or some other flatbed.
