Underbelly Heat

While trying to debug my CATV issues, I discovered my underbelly heat isn’t in the greatest shape. Not the easiest access to get back there and redo the screw and tape. I guess I can always get this done under warranty but would be easier to just get it done myself if I can reach it.

Think of what your AC ducts look like. I found the same quality install of ducting for the bunk house in our 377. Guess I need to check the heating ducts too

I’ve been perusing all the mods you guys have been doing on the 377, very cool!

The pic doesn’t show it very well, but it’s a tangle of wires, plumbing, duct work, etc blocking my path to that duct. I might be able to just barely reach it but I’d basically be running my cordless drill blind and then trying to slap tape on it as well. The dilemma of whether to do work yourself or take advantage of the warranty at the cost of packing everything up and driving to the dealer.

I would do it myself instead of taking it to the dealer, but that’s just me. Besides, I see you’re in the Austin area....probably not going to be a deal breaker if that’s left as is. We camp year round, as I’m sure you do, and I think I’ve only used the furnace a couple of times. (We have the heat pump).

Yeah, I may tackle it in the near future. First priority is debugging the CATV set up since my wife and kiddos want something to watch every so often. I wish I had the heat pump, its an upgrade I plan to do when the current AC units die. I'm actually in CA now, just moved about a month and a half ago, but weather here is pretty similar WRT to cold spells. If we decide to head up to Tahoe for spring skiing, I'll make the furnace a priority. We're full-timing for at least the next 2-3 years.

Good luck with the CATV. That wiring is a hodgepodge mess too

My rig just has the louvered grate mounted right on the duct down there in the large storage.

Mine does as well in the storage, but what supplies that duct from the furnace? That is the problem area for me.

Well the good thing is the heat is doing something some good! I would want to fix that myself. A little foil tape and a quick fix.

Sloppy work though!

I agree, I want to fix it as well but can’t see a good way to get access to it. I may have to look harder in the coming weeks.

I've had to squeeze myself in between plumbing pipes when installing the solar wiring. Lots of things are pretty hard to get at.

Maybe you can push one of the kids in far enough to fix it?

Lol, that thought has crossed my mind! My youngest would fit well, but not sure he has the coordination or strength yet to hold the drill steady and zip a screw in.
