Underbelly issues

Our '15 Eagle 34.5 BHTS was taken in several times to the dealer we bought it from for leaking grey and black water valves. The last time was just prior to the warranty expiring in May. I never looked under the trailer very closely, at a glance everything looked okay. Just recently I noticed there was a portion of the underbelly hanging down towards the front of the unit. Upon closer inspection I discovered that every where they worked on the valves, they just cut the rigid material and then put some black webbed tape over the seams. One of these taped seams was coming apart, and there are several others that have developed a considerable sag, so that they are separating. Is this the standard method for repairing/replacing the valves or should they have removed the entire sheets of underbelly to do the repairs? I have replaced the failing sections of tape with Flex Seal Tape, hoping it lives up to its billing.

I'm sure every dealer cuts corners to repair items under the enclosed underbelly, why not email jayco and ask them what the standard operating procedure is?

I know gorilla tape works well in a spot like that if you clean it extremely well before applying.

I would screw 1X3 wood strips to the inside of the hole then screw the patch to the 1X3’s then tape it if you like.

I used gorilla after cutting a hole to replace my valve. No problems staying put. Why aggravate yourself dealing with the dealer. 5 minute fix.

I agree with 33 RLDS. Just use gorilla tape on the seams. I've had to access several things through the underbelly, and I assure you that cutting a three sided opening, with the remaining side acting as a hinge, is way better than trying to drop down a whole sheet of the underbelly material. I have seams that I used gorilla tape on two years ago and they are still holding strong.
