Update on my 2015 Pinnacle FLSA

Hi:

Today they pickup my 2015 Pinnacle 38flsa (My Unit was an early 15 before the Change in later built 2015 units) to bring back to the factory for warranty work that could not be done at any local dealer here in FL. The major issue was the Crack under the front slide, and can see the stressing on the driver side, and they will take care of the some other issues also. (Unit will not self level, Microwave starts on it own, Rear A/C unit blew up, Kitchen Grey Tank.)

Something odd happened when picking up and was wondering if anyone ever had this issue: It seems when transport company was hooking up he jerked the unit very hard, I had the wheels chocked and it seemed to push the axel out of alignment and back creating a rub on the rear passenger side tire. I would assume once he gets going the MorRyde axel should re-align since I thought are self correcting, but it was rubbing so hard I did not want to damage the tire so I removed the metal trim and plastic fender. I sent an email to Jayco to let them know and put the parts inside.
I asked the driver to call me if there was any issue on the 1100 mile trek to the factory.

Appreciate any thoughts on this.

Happy Travels,

E.R.

Hello:

Not good news on the delivery of my unit back to the factory, Not even 300 miles into the trip 3 out of the 4 tires blew and different times.

I have been so cautious on pressure, I have a tire temp gun, sun protection.

Driver said that one of the road service company's changed 6 times in 2 days the same POS tire on other trailers that broke down.

Horrible these RV company's put unsafe tires on there units. I don't even have 4000 miles on them plus the trip from factory down to FL Dealer.

Now the driver side wheel well is damaged.

Hi,
I also have had trouble with the Rainier tires, went on a trip to Arizon and when I returned had 2 fist sized bulges on the inside sidewalls of two tires. I contacted Treadit, after Jayco advised that they do not warranty tires, and they sent me replacements. I replaced those tires and after travelling only 100 km I found another that had a bulge. Treadit sent me another 3 new tires to replace all of the ones that came with the trailer. I don't believe that these tires can handle the weight of the 38flsa and will also fail. I would also insist that Jayco replace these as the new 38flsa have different tires and rims that will take 110psi. There are many complaints on the internet about these specific size tires failing over and over again.
Good luck with Jayco!

Ron

Up until the last couple years auto manuf didn't include tires in their warranty either.

Transport companies require that 60 mph is tops, they verify thru log books. All a driver needs is a Level 1 or 2 DOT inspection on a trip and he knows he can't mess with his log book.

The tugging on the fifth wheel when coupled is required for a CDL driver, it is part of the pretrip procedure. I do it everytime it hook up.

I just returned from the keys last week 350 mile to my home without any incidents, and I drive max 65. I find it strange 3 tires blow at 3 different segments (Mileage 200, 380 and 500 as per driver). If you look at my picture the tires were in perfect shape, I had checked tread, all the PSI and for any bubbles, etc. before he hooked up, driver even put on the electric psi monitor stems. He was very nice older gentleman who looked like Santa...LOL...and said takes his time and does not drive over 62/63. He Said now driving at 50/55 cause he is afraid 4th tire will pop that Jayco would not allow him to change it. He Was still 500 miles from factory and spare is on.
Good News a least Jayco responded to my email and said they will take care of it. I requested the Good Year G Tires. Lets see if I get an allowance for this. I even called this issue into the tire manufacture which is requesting the tires be returned to them for inspection so they can tell me I abused them, where under inflated and not covered by warranty......

Thanks Grumpy,

unfortunately that is not specified I'm the Jayco 2 year coverage and I specifically remember being told by the Dealer that the jayco warranty covers bumper to bumper for 2 years.

Hi:

Update on my unit, it was returned back to my home in one piece. As I wrote back when they picked up the unit 3 out of the 4 Tredit Tires blew up on the way to the factory damaging my 5er.

Well a big smile on my face .....Jayco did a great job and covered everything on my list, Levelers, A/C Unit, Microwave, Kitchen Grey Tank, crack in front slide (paint matches nicely), all the damage done by those may pop at anytime Tredit tires and new Goodyear tires and wheel's with pickup and delivery back to FL home under warranty.

Loading her back up and hope to get on the road soon.

Safe Travels,

E.R.

Same here, Grumpy!! Even down I-25 through your neck of the woods then I-40 into AZ. Running a safe towing speed under 65mph as the 2 of us are CDL Class A drivers from Alaska and the transport trucks hauling campers are flying by in the fast lane!
I knew I should have taken a pic as the hubby was driving the last trip south NOT pulling our camper and we still get passed!!
