USA Maps - shows states you've been

Ok, I gotta know!

I LOVE the US maps that people have on this forum that shows all the states they've traveled. I've gone onto my profile and tried to find how the heck you get this on your profile so it shows up on this forum.

Can someone help?

Thanks!

P.S. I'd love to get one for our actual RV also and put on slide out like I've seen others do, can someone tell me best one and where to buy??

For the sig map, here is all I did. Found a site (forgot which one. you know "old timer brain") anyway it was a free site. Built my map, saved it to my system, went into my profile and imported the map. Build out your sig data and save it to the site. Worked for me. Bought the paper one to stick on the slideout from CW when it was on sale.

Here is the link to the site that I use:

Visited States Map

I would recommend using the Small size in the Map Size pull down if you want to use it with your profile or signature on the forum.

Speaking of these maps, what’s etiquette when it comes to filling in the states? If I did a year long trip in a 72 VW van all across North America 30 years ago (and I did), can I fill those states in on my 377?

I don't know of any set rule, but personally I have only filled in states that I have camped in. I don't include those I just traveled through on vacation or business.

Think the idea is you have to have stayed in the RV in that state to fill it in. At least that is the idea I follow.

It was a Westfalia camper van and my home for the year after college, lots of time living out of it, all over North America. But it was 30 years ago. Does that count?

Counts in my book Todd! But my math says it was 40 years ago [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]

Edit: I see it was a 72 van rather than you did it in 72. Sorry bro. Didn’t mean to age you prematurely [emoji3]

That’s right, slow your roll there, Tom. I have enough trouble with the fact I’m 50.

It's your map, post what you feel you should. To be honest, no one is going to care what or if you post LOL When I see a map on an RV at a campground, at most, it's the start of a conversation, nothing more. I have much more problem with folks pretending to be a Veteran, when it's so obviously after speaking with them they aren't. If someone wants to lie about camping in a state...so be it.

I only mark the map when I have camped since retirement. I was fortunate to travel all over the country as a kid, but, I only count the places I and my family have been, mostly in the last 10 years..I didn't mark Florida even tho we camped as a family many times there, but, that was 35 - 40 years ago..

Is no wrong or right answer...it's ALL up to you !

PS I don't count all the places I "camped" in VietNam either

Hi All, It's my (your) map and I (we) get to choose what we put on it. Speaking for me and my wife of 48 years, If we have camped overnight or longer in a state, it goes on the map!
