Wait or Buy
Looking to purchase a new Eagle HT 27.5 with 16” tires, auto level, fireplace and 2nd AC. Is $44K out the door a deal or can I expect deeper discounts as the uncertainty of economy continues? Asking for a friend. Lol

I think deals will only get better as economy suffers.
30-35% off MSRP is a good deal. 40% is considered a great deal.

I agree, I am on my 5th RV and I have always gotten 35% off MSRP or I keep shopping. I saved 37% off MSRP on my most recent purchase this month. Also I have sold all my old units on RVtrader with no issues.

Totally agree, hold out until your discount is in the 35% off range.
Check dealers up to 6 hours away, they will offer great deals if they know you need to drive a long way to get it from them, then use that pricing to get a deal at your local dealer. Pick a dealer where you can take the rig into easier for warranty work.

atxguy, I have a 2017 27.5 RLTS and I paid way less than $44k. But, Mine only had 15" rims with China Bombs, One AC unit and no auto-level. I paid roughly $32k The auto level tacks on maybe $2k. You can probably do better. Tell em' you are going to shop around a bit. The bigger piece right now is how low will the finance rates go?

2020 pinnacle 37MDQS
I ordered 2020 Pinnacle 2 weeks ago was due to be built in April. Was too be Delivered in early May. Jayco shut down for at least two weeks. Over time at work has dried up . Economy is going in the toilet . Thinking of pulling plug on deal. Not the right time to buy.

On the other hand, there are going to be a lot of only-slightly-used units on the markert soon, as people tighten their financial belts.
If you can afford to be a bit flexible in your requirments, you might get a good deal on a private sale, or your dealer may have a growing inventory of return/repo units, which they'll be anxious to move.

We bought just a few weeks ago, before everything got really crazy. We ended up about 34% off MSRP with a good number for our trade. Only problem is we haven't picked up yet, they are closed, cashed our check from the bank but weren't able to send a check paying our trade off before they closed. Hoping they can get that done before I have to make payments on both.

Our friends friend just sold their Rpod for “take over payments”, it was I guess the 19’ one with a small slide.

Wait too long and the value of used units will be next to nothing. Folks unemployed are going to be selling theirs and the dealers will offer nothing on trade because they won't sell. Why buy a used unit when the same dealer will sell a new one under warranty for a hundred or two more than a one year old used unit.
Also, on the flip. side, if the economy rebounds somewhat and the manufacturers remain closed for a few weeks the new supply will decrease which could cause an increase in price or the need to settle for less than one was hoping for.
It's a crap shoot and right now my crystal ball is a little cloudy.

Refinancing
With the Fed dropping the interest rate once so far, we are hoping it will drop some more. We're thinking about refinancing and dropping a couple of years off the loan we have now, well that's if things work out. Its a tough call going ahead with a big purchase, we all are hoping everything's going to go back to what it was, but who knows what the next normal will be?

When you all are speaking 30-40% off MSRP are you talking about options included or MSRP before options?

Always with options included. There's a healthy markup on those, too, so go from the bottom line with the options you want on it.

Go do a search for that rig across the country on RVtrader.com, then printout the best deal you can find, and use that price as a negotiation point. If the prices are thousands apart, you might consider flying to that other dealer and drive the rig home. Or, get it shipped...

WAIT!!!!!
The economy is going to slow and the deals will only get better. Unfortunately many dealers will not survive and they will be selling low to get out from under the bills they are facing. Hate to suggest this but those that have available funds to spend, invest during the down time get the best deals. Now is way to soon to jump in and buy. Good luck with your purchase.
Enjoy the journey

Gotchya and thank you! I feel very comfortable with what we recently gave for our brand new 2019 Eagle HT 29.5 BHOK (leftover) a month ago then.
By using the unit total price at bottom right of MSRP build sheet (minus the destination & dealer prep charges that are listed) we paid 39% off MSRP. If you include the destination & dealer prep charges that they wrote down then we got it for 42.5% off MSRP.
I wasn’t too afraid of buying a leftover that sat on their lot for over a year...this is the 2nd time we have done it...bought a 2008 JayFeather leftover in 2009 from the same dealer and had good luck with it.
Hope this info helps out the OP.

If you pay cash make sure you get the title when you pay. A CLEAR TITLE. If you finance then it is the finance companies responsibility.

When you do decide to buy, the next challenge is if you should buy the extended warranty and the extra spray coating that they offer. Make that decision before you go into sign and stay firm! I’m sure there are lots of opinions on both of those.
I bought both and regret both although I did get them for about half of the original asking price. I have needed no warranty work and thought the spray coat is worthless. Just wax the rig yourself of hire someone. The extended warranty I’m sure is worth it to those that have lots of issues.
