Well good sam authorized a furrion replacement with another furrion. So I told them as long as they want to pay to replace it every 2 years fine. When it actually works right its not a bad microwave. For $500 and $200 in labor I would think they would be okay with switching brands but nope had to be a direct replacement if it was available and it was.

Fought with GS for 5 months on this. They wanted to pay to get it fixed but couldn't find anyone to work on it. Called some friends at camping world and figured out the magic words to get the replacement authorized. Also learned that the circuit breaker is only good to be tripped about 8 to 10 times and ours was 30 pluse do got that authorized as well. A week in and no problems so far.

I always thought circuit breakers were good until they quit working.
I learned this today.
Depends on how they are tripped. Overloads aren't as hard on them as a Short. --

In an overload condition they are rated for 50 operations at 6x (600%) rated current.

If it a maximum rated short has caused the breaker to trip more than once it is most likely time to replace the breaker.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it was a short caused braker trip. It only happened when opening and closing the microwave door. Once closed it worked fine. I replaced the door pins on the microwave and it worked fine for like 3 months. Then started tripping the braker again. For $50 for the braker it was worth replacing. I'm not an electrician so the best i can go on is what "google" says is the life when being tripping 30 to 60 times. Personally I don't like playing around or risking it when it comes to electricity. I also was not aware there were differences in why the braker would trip. It seemed to be fine to me. We reset it A LOT. And it kept resting fine. But again better safe then sorry.

How does the door open? I noticed the fingers slot is against the wall on the Whirlpool door. Is there room from the microwave to the wall to open?

I didn't realize that when we got it because the insurance company bought it, yes if you have small fingers you can get it in there to open but, I came up with a solution that works great! I had a small drawer handle leftover from another project I had done, so I put it on the face of the Microwave using two sided acrylic tape and it has been on there ever since

Thank you. Handle would definitely work!

Are you getting the smell with the Microwave function or the Convection?

Sounds like the internal parts are melting, I would toss it if not under warranty and look for a new one. Better than a fire!

Thank you for your reply, I was not clear when mentioning my convection ovens, are in my home not in this trailer. I only have a regular microwave here in the trailer. So hence only one function and it is upon the use of the this regular microwave. I could smell the odor in my blankets last night, in the front bedroom. I haven’t turned on nor opened the Propane Gas as yet. I also have not opened the cook to vent from the outside either. My first post should have said Not HEATING either . Was wondering if the microwave utilizes the cook top vent as well? Drawing at straws. Any ideas most welcomed! Tyi Denise

I wouldn't use it anymore, and make sure to keep it unplugged. If you purchased your trailer new from a dealer the microwave might be covered under warranty. If it's a new to you used trailer, you'd have to replace it out of pocket. Or just live without a microwave.

Ok...well not knowing the year of the trailer, it's hard to tell, but if new it should be covered under warranty. If it is mounted on the wall above the cooktop then yes, it will have a built in fan and light. It should not have that type of odor. Have you tried looking up the Brand and make of it for trouble shooting?
