Hello All!! We had a water leak from the bathroom sink faucet. About a quarter inch of water on bathroom floor that leaked down into the storage compartment through the drain/ water inlet hole under the sink cabinet. We were home when it happened and immediately vacuumed the water up, set up a dehumidifier and set up industrial fans to dry things out in the bathroom as well as underneath in the storage. Now I am starting to notice some uneven spots in the bathroom floor between the toilet and the sink cabinet. Is it possible that the subfloor is ruined even though we caught the leak immediately?? Thank You

I can say with my experience in the past with particle board or chip board sub floor is, particle board it does not take much water acts like a sponge chip board is a little more resilient. Some may of seeped between the flooring cover and sub floor. just my two cents good luck

You should have a plywood floor so I doubt a short time exposed to moisture would cause a major issue. The decorative flooring may be the issue. What exactly do you mean by "uneven spots" in the floor ?

Thanks for your reply. The toilet faces the sink counter. When you run your hand or bare foot over the flooring (viynil) there are some high and low spots , minor bubbles if you will. They are not very noticeable to the eye.. These are not apparent in the living area even around the sink. Everywhere except the bathroom the floor is super smooth. I was wondering if they put some kind of pan under the shower like they do in homes.
