Water Filter in Residential Fridge Stuck

Has anyone had issues with getting the water filter on a Frigidaire to release? It is spring loaded. Normally I just push in on the filter and it releases to be pulled out. The new one goes right in and you give it a push and it clicks into place. Now when I push in to release the filter, it doesn't budge at all.

Pulling the used filter on our last change was a challenge. Couldn’t release the filter normally and ended up using an offset screwdriver to finish the job. Fortunately it released without breaking anything. As I’m using what I thought was the same filter under a different brand, I expect to have the same problem in a few months. Was yours a Fridgitaire ?

Yes. My residential is a Frigidaire. I believe I have an after market filter as well. I found a video on YouTube that shows how to get it the filter unstuck. I have put the link below. I'm getting the FW out of storage for a camping trip next week so I will update the thread on how easy it is to get out following the tips in the YouTube video.
