Water heater check valve.

I have a 2018 Eagle HT 28.5 with a Atwood GC6AA-10G water heater, how can I tell if it has a check valve on it ? A friend has a camper who's hot water flow stopped because of a bad plastic check valve on the water heater. If mine has one I was thinking about changing it to a brass one.Click image for larger version

Check valve is on the cold side. Looks like metal to me and part of the tank..

The check valve will look similar to the round item in the top left quadrant of the pic in this link. They look very similar to the one on HWH at your house.

That's a safety pressure relief valve, not a check valve.

I changed one out on a previous unit and the inside valve part was plastic but the the housing was brass. It's gotta be in there somewhere.

Do you think the gray fitting between the tank and the black nut on both the hot and cold are both check valves ?

I believe the check valve is on the output (Top). This stops cold water from coming in the tank when it is in bypass.

No those are just nipples in order to make the connections. If it's not built into the bottom of the tank you probably don't have one.

My 2017 Eagle 293RKDS with an Atwood water heater doesn't have a check valve.

That's what I was thinking. Thanks for confirming my thoughts.
