Water pressure

I have a 2015 38FLSA. I use a regulator at my hook up and the water pressure seems very low. Is this unit equipped with an "on board" regulator? Have I "over regulated"? Is it normal? Also the line going to the black tank flush is also regulated. Does it need to be? Dont wanna blow any seals, etc. Owners manual is garbage! Thanks

No it does not have a regulator. If you are using a "typical" RV regulator most are junk since they are close to 3/8" pipe vs 1/2". Go to HD, Lowes or Menards and get a regular house regulator. You will also need to buy the pipe thread to hose fittings, male and female. Well worth the money, that's what I used for over 20 yrs.

Also have you checked the water filter, it will cause a reduction when it needs replacement.

Don't use a regulator unless you have very high water pressure. I never use one. The cheap RV ones are low flow low pressure. If you feel you need to use one, get a residential high flow adjustable one.
The sewer flush is pretty much free flowing, so high pressure wouldn't harm it.
Modern RV plumbing is rated at much higher pressures than back in the day.

In a CG with nominal water pressure, could there still be excessive pressure spikes (water-hammer) due to long water line runs in the park? Would this be a case in favor of using a regulator anyway?

Thanks everyone! I suppose it's just something I'll have to get used to. I can at least reroute line so that black tank flush isn't regulated.

I check pressure at the CG, then add the regulator if the pressure is high.

Second the house type as the RV ones do limit the flow rate.

FYI, be careful if in freezing weather as they can crack when frozen. I forgot to drain the hose one night

As mentioned check your on board filter and if it was replaced with an incorrect high flow one or clogged. I had an issue with using a much too restrictive filter that I changed for a high flow and have not had an issue since.
