Water pump

New rookie question: when hooked to city water, should I turn on the 12v water pump or no? Owners manual says to turn it on for the bathroom, kitchen, and outside shower faucets (pg. 126 of 2018 Seismic 4212 manual). It doesn't really specify if/if not to turn it on when hooked to city water, I get it for dry camping. The only area thats got low pressure with just using city water pressure, is the showers....just wondering if that pump would boost shower pressure?

You do not need the pump for city water.

The only time I've found it helpful to keep the fresh water tank filled and the pump turned on while hooked to city water was when snow-birding 5 months at a time down south. Some of my campground neighbors had clothes washers that would lower my pressure too low to take a good shower. I also liked the idea of not letting the fresh water tank get stagnant over 5 months.

Not sure if it would help your shower low pressure or if you have something else going on. Won't hurt to give it a try.

Good deal that makes sense, I just didn't want to fry the pump in the event it only draws water from the fresh water tank, which to my understanding isn't used when hooked to city water.

No you don't have to turn the water pump on. The city water psi is used. You only turn on your water pump to use your belly water tank.
