Water pump issue

The water pump in our Jayco Pinnacle runs about once every three seconds when dry camping. I tried capping off the water inlet from the pannel. I don't seem to be loosing any water, just pressure enough for the pump to cycle a second or two. I tried going back through past posts as I'm sure I have read of this problem before but don't remember the fix. I'm betting there is a check valve somewhere I don't know about. Any help would be welcome. Thanks

The pump itself has check valves to prevent loss of pressure back to the suction side. There are several chambers, my Remco has 5 and each has a valve. You may have a stiff or broken valve or perhaps some stuck debris. That can cause cycling with no leak.

Some pumps have rebuild kits available, or you might want to upgrade versus repair.

Make sure your low point drains don't have a slow trickle/drip leak.

Another place is the toilet. If it is trickling into the bowl and being flushed the rising water level may not be noticed.
To check this, turn off pump, flush toilet until dry. Turn pump back on. Put a piece of toilet paper in a don't let anyone use it for a few hours. We had a slow seep and only noticed it when it had filled to just below the rim overnight.

Also check the hot water tank drain plug. That little plastic plug is prone to leakage. And there is enough heat there to dry it up before you see a drip outside
