Weight Limit on Slide Out

Hello-my family is new to the 5th wheel world. We have a 1995 Jayco and need to add some sleeping space to accommodate our family. We are thinking of swapping the couch out for a trundle bed. Do we need to be concerned with adding too much weight to the slide out? Thank you for your thoughts!

I don't think you'll have to worry about adding a bed in place of the couch. Doesn't the couch turn into a bed?

Been thinking about ditching my sofa sleeper as well for something a little more fitting for our needs. We have to use it as a bed, but it's bigger than we need, and to me, a pain to fold out. Won't be long before I build something in its place.

I think you'll probably end up with less weight with a swap out. Just gotta use common sense.

Anxiously awaiting your Mod John - I want to swap mine out and more than once I've used your creative brain to mod my trailer. I have the physical ability to closely duplicate some of what you do, but severely lack the ability to create the mental picture needed to design one on my own...
