Weight Question ?

GVWR of FW is 15500 scaled axle weight 10200 plus 3000 pin weight. What weight should I base my tire rating on for new tire purchase?
The weight label says 6800lb axles I called Dexter with the axle # and they said 7000lb axles were installed.

You base your tire rating on the axle weight rating. You should have at least 6,000 lb axles or more and be running E or F rated tires.

Your Axles are in fact 7000 lb axles but because you tires are probably rated at about 3400 lbs each, the axle rating sticker will be the lowest component rating which will be the tires.

Our Pinnacle is the same way, 7000 lb axles with "E" Rated Goodyear Marathons that were rated at 3420 lbs each, thus the Axle rating sticker is 6800 lbs.
We changed to "G" Rated Tires that have load rating of 3750 lbs each, but no matter what you do, you can not change the rating label.

If your able to get the July issue of Trailer Life, they have a several page write up on Trailer tires. I haven't finished the article yet but it's pretty informative.
