This is my last year with Dicor. When I open up for next season I will be using Eternabond to do all the seams including the protrusions. I manage a bus company and I have used Eternabond on our Prevost and VanHool roofs for years. To me prepping properly is the most tedious part. Laying down the tape is the easy end of the job.

You are correct sir........still have to do the rear one. But it’s sooooo hot, it will not be today

Probably should do this. Jayco put a new roof on last year. What is the best to use to clean the area before applying? So I assume the front and rear seam is what is critical as the roofing rolls over the sides on mine. Thanks, Bob

They recommend acetone, lacquer thinner, brake cleaner or their cleaner. Do around the roof vents too.

We use the Eternabond cleaner at work. We service our fleet of Prevost motorcoaches and choose to stay consistent with what they recommend. Others have said they have had success cleaning with mineral spirits prior to laying down the tape...

Jayco did my roof in Oct 2017. Seams we’re still good last year. Been at RV repair dealer now baking in the sun for five months. Really am getting at end of my rope especially when I have a full RV carport to keep it under. Hopefully I get it back to take my summer trip to my camp. The roof will be the second thing I look at after the first thing (wash job).

Heck I got this new truck and only used it to go to repair shop. Missed three trips before the lock down even happened but that would not of stopped me anyway.

Hey Rock, what are they fixing ? Thankfully I haven't had problems since jayco. But I've had enough of those rv dealers.

Jammed Kitchen slide, Gray tank leak, sensors, tv antenna I ripped off, water heater, landing gear control panel, washer dryer, shower faucet, slide seals, tv, control panel water leak, rear camera, slide topper and a few others. We r still discussing my generator install issue with Jayco before they will work on it. The only issue I can see is the fuel line runs from tank between the firewall seal and the front compartment door when door is closed but there is a rubber seal there. My generator has randomly quit showing over frequency code since day one. RV one, CW, Jayco service center and Onan in middlebury have all worked on it and still it randomly shuts off. Now it has sat without running for 5 months, I ran it every month but it does have non ethanol fuel in it. We lived in it before and after hurricane so I had two years of items that were problems. Just about all will be covered under my extended warranty but antenna and topper. It still chaps my —— on this generator install issue. I am not a moron. Master Structural Mechanic, Airframe Powerplant Mech, IA certified and I am the idiot on this issue. It is either a carb or fuel pump issue since day one but neither of these have been changed or even the circuit board. Same garbage adjusted gov, ran all day worked fine even though the codes were set showing it stopped working. Ahaaaaa

Darn, I couldn't go back to Rv one or CW if they were the last place on earth. I'll fix things on my from now on. Yeah you could be right on the gen. It could be the board or pump, I've even seen loose wiring throw freq. errors. Luckily you have extended. Hope they get it fixed sooner than later for you!

X2 on that. After the hurricane up here there r not a lot of choices. The dealer I am at was recommended with good reviews. They r just so busy and my long laundry list of repairs did not help. Plus now they have to look and troubleshoot, get repair part prices and than warranty approval. Than order the parts. Thankfully we are back in house and can wait. Hopefully the Dealer and Jayco can settle the factory gen install issue and than work on it. They swear they have the best factory trained repair tech. I bet it will be a fuel pump or carb issue the whole time

You may be correct, but laquer thinner seems awfully harsh from my experience in the body/paint shop trade. It will soften a lot of plastics, vinyls, etc.

All I used was a bucket with dawn dish soap and water. along with a car wash brush.

For me the front cap seam, and along the roof and skylight caulking was starting to blister more and more. I use Eternabond around year 5/6. I did not even place any decor along the edges of it.

I also applied it around every object on the roof, except the tv antenna, and gutters. The only reason the tv antenna did not get done was I was running out of good light.
