What do you tow with?

What is everyone towing their 5th wheels with?

I’m towing my Talon 313T with our 17 F250 6.7

I was curious on what everyone else was towing their 5th wheels with

Looks like your rig is very high in the front. Have you tried putting a level on it when hooked up? x2 on my signature below

It’s actually not off to bad. I think the angle of the pictures do it an injustice. I have a 3/1 level kit on the truck so without bags it’s nog going to sit level. I have timbrens and they work great.

Our rig grosses out at 16,750 max allowable. Shopped for the truck after choosing the RV.

The sig below shows the result.

All the best

Hah. That reminds me... Now that we are FT in the RV but not yet FT on the road, we still have Joan's little Hyundai Sonata. Often she parks it in front of the RV with the rear under the kingpin while the truck is down the lane in the truck lot.

Often, folks will walk by, maybe walking a dog, look at the Pinnacle, look at the car, then look at me with a scruntched up face and ask, "How do you pull that thing?"

To which I'll say "Oh there's a Cummins diesel in the back seat".

We tow with a 2018 Chevrolet 3500 Diesel DRW. I have only had 2 fifth wheel RVs the first one was a 37 foot long toy hauler and the new one is 42 feet long. I have never towed with anything but a DRW and always enjoy towing our RV. Not sure how may people like me are out there that finds excuses to take the longer route to enjoy the haul, but I sure enjoy it.

I believe that I’m one of very few, or possibly the only one in this forum towing with an Automated Safety Hitch.

Wow, I have never heard of this system before. Do you like it as much as the videos look like it will?

Turning much easier and braking is better?

You are pulling a North Point with a 2500 so seems like it works.

How much was this system?

Would you recommend it as the best towing system?

I very much like it. It saved me from having to trade in a two year old 2500 for a 3500.

Turning is better, as the hitch actually swigs a little away from the direction that I’m turning, before following behind. Braking is much better, as the ASH has the same disk brakes as the truck.

Cost is one of the negatives.... it’s expensive. Mine cost almost $11,000 three years ago.

And yes, it’s a great towing system.

I am not totally surprised on the cost, whole other axle with rims and tires. Electric over hydraulic brakes. Battery. New hitch system for truck. A lot into that system. It has some type of winch to pull things together.
