What Jacks are you carrying?
So while I wait for the day to come to pick up my new 5ver, I am wondering what everyone carries in case they need a jack for the 5ver.
I have the drive on ramp that did lift the other tire pff the ground but my TY was much smaller and I did not worry about overloading and axle.
So what do you guys carry?

I've also got the yellow drive on ramp in case we need to change a tire. Given that it only lifts the tire up just enough to change it, I'm not too worried about stress on the axle for the time needed to do the job. Then again, I haven't popped a tire yet. Guess we'll see where that lands me.

I can make a pyramid with my "lego" levelers for lifting a tire for changing. When not hooked to my TV, I carry a 2 ton, aluminum floor jack with an axle adapter (35 lbs in a carry case). I also carry a cordless impact gun w / sockets. Either way makes quick work of a tire change.

Yep, a jack pad adapter fits the axle under the spring perch. No need to crawl on the ground to position jack. Will also lift an axle of my Super Duty. Again, no need to crawl on the ground to position jack. Light weight, compact, 18" lift height and sufficient capacity to lift trailer or truck tire off the ground for changing.
Ps - I used to carry a 4 way lug wrench and a bottle jack until I saw a guy in a campground use a floor jack and cordless impact wrench and change a tire on his 5th wheel in 10 minutes.

I don't have enough room to carry a bulky floor jack, and all I've lifted were heavy too.

2 ton aluminum floor jack weighs about 32 lbs. 2 pc handle removes and total length is about 25". Mine fits in a small canvas bag. I only carry it when towing, fits easily in the bed of my truck.

I like having a bottle Jack, that is rated to lift the full weight of the vehicle. I have found, once the weight on it is above the 50% load rating, you have to actually put some effort into the pump handle. Which is a pain, while reaching behind a wheel. So having an over sized Jack is nice. Just make sure you can put it under the spring when the tire is flat.
I also carry an 18" breaker bar, with a socket that fits each vehicles lug nuts, including the trailers. I might carry a 24" breaker bar for a big trailer.

Thank you, I have a breaker bar and torque wrench in my trailer now that will be transferred over. Since I will have changed both my truck and RV I will make sure the socket fits.
Thanks.

2 1/2 ton floor jack, and something to pad stroke. And a plank to put under jack for soft ground. In one occasion I had trouble getting a high enough stroke to get new inflated tire on...
But w roadside service I've been grateful for two blowouts on TV taken care of by handy Dandy servicemen on the side of a raucous busy interstate.
Wife driving those two times, and we thank Jesus he kept us in the road both times.
