What the heck is this?

Messing around with our new to us '17 28.5RSTS I noticed this little button thingy under the overhang. It is soft semi-clear vinyl. I pushed it and nothing happened. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks.

Check the lights on your nose cap. I have 2 buttons, one for a pinbox light and one for the nose cap.

I thought maybe that was it, but they didn't come on. I know they work as I saw the service guy have them on, but didn't see how he did it. Does it have to be plugged into the truck? Oh and thanks for the quick replies guys!

Being a pre-owned RV Trailer this switch could be anything...

On your pushing the switch in question be sure to have someone outside your trailer looking for something to come ON and OFF.

I ran into this situation on my 5th wheel trailer with a mystery switch... My switch was a standard wall mount light type switch... I turned it ON and OFF and could not determine what it was controlling. Later on I was doing it again and my wife just happened to be outside and she came in asking did I know the two SCARE lights mounted up high close to the rear on my 5th wheel trailer was coming ON and OFF...

Google Imagine

To me this looks like a previous owner add-on for something which may be hard to trace wiring... Perhaps you could ask the previous owner if it was a private purchase....

Hopefully someone one here with same type of trailer will respond...

It's not a push button switch, it's a rocker switch inside. Press and roll your finger from front to back or back to front. I have a pair that look just like that on my Northpoint and the clear cover makes it a little difficult to turn on and off.

I went out and checked it out and sure enough, it worked and the lights came on. I kept pushing up on it, but this time pushed back. Kind of a tough little switch to operate though. Thanks for the reply.

There ya go! Lol! Glad I could help. You're right, they are a little tough to operate with that cover on there. I have a problem turning them on and off because I can never remember which way is on or off, so I just roll my finger one way or the other until it clicks.
