What to clean roof before sealing?

2018 NP 377-RLBH. While cleaning and UV treating the entire roof in March I noticed that some areas along the sides or the roof radius where it attaches to the sidewall the original sealant is getting some gaps so I was going to touch up with Geocel Proflex this weekend.

QUESTION - what can/should I use to clean those small areas before applying Proflex? alcohol? Mineral spirits? I wasn't sure if any of those might damage the EDPM/TPO/whatever roof material. Appreciate the thoughts.

I used Dicor Rubber roof cleaner with a sponge mop and Ziollo RV Flex repair to seal the roof on my new to me camper. The RV flex repair stuff is absolutely incredible. I used a paint brush to put it on rather than a roller. It looks like a brand new roof and feels like one also…

My personal preference is Simple Green, and from your description of the area needing attention; applied with a toothbrush. Rinse well, well dried. Good choice on Proflex if its ok with rubber roof (not sure), otherwise dicor.

Mixture 50/50 vinegar and water. Cleans amazingly well and also provides a etch on the membrane to permit a good bond with the sealer. Wait for the cleansing to dry before applying sealer

A quality dish soap mixed with a little bit of bleach eliminates most of my roof contamination when using a soft scrub brush. (mold & mildew are brutal down here) I rinse well, twice then repeat same steps using 50/50 vinegar & water. Kirkelli is right about that natural bonding agent left behind
