I have had two tires blowout on my 2014 trailer. My warranty is up on the 22nd. One blew last year and took out a panel on the drivers side. Then two weeks ago I had another blowout on the passenger side that took out a panel.

My dealer said Jayco doesn't cover tires, but I contacted them and they said they do. First one I had already replaced the tire. This one I still have the tire. My dealer just took pictures of it.

I emailed Jayco myself both times, gave the all the information, and got the reply they do cover the tires and damage they do when they blow. I just got the approval today that my dealer will be getting the email that I am covered.

My advice is to email service@jayco.com and ask for Lisa. She has been extremely helpful both times. In my experience, the warranty has been excellent. I have considered selling my trailer so I can replace it with a new one just so I can be covered by the factory warranty. I can't guarantee I could get a good deal again so I haven't tried that.

Still wondering, 10's of thousands or more RVs on the road with TMaster tires and so few people with actual issues. Just doesn't make sense to me and tend to believe that the forums [not this one only] tend to blacklist a product and that fuels a belief that something is bad. I will keep a close eye on my tires and watch for the slightest indication of a problem but spending $600 to $750 on replacement tires when the oems seem to be preforming fine is just something I'm not going to do without good cause.

If towmax tires failed with the predictability that some want us to believe, there would be 10's of thousands of complaints not a handful.

I know a lot of people do not know about or use this, it does help with recalls and customers complaints. Keeping You Safe | Safercar | National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)

While there are only 19 complaints for Towmax, I am one of the 19.

It does not list certain bands for complaints at all. If you have had a legitimate issue with a tire please register it.

While I was lucky and caught mine prior to hitting the road, others are not so lucky. I had a split belt and blisters on the inside after 13 months of use. All 4 were replaced with Maxxis.

Also I would agree that it is more prevalent with larger, heavier trailers which could mean that the tires are overrated for their actual limits.

My guess is that most of the tire blowouts are from several reasons.
1st, being that depending on where you live the TT you bought could've been driven several 1000 miles to your dealer. So you already have a bunch of miles on the tires. I live in Oregon and if I buy an Elkhart made TT then it's 2,257 miles to my dealer.
How fast is that transporter driving? Did he hit something on the road? Etc.
2nd, is how fast do you tow? Anything over 65mph is asking for trouble. And I don't care if the speed limit is 75mph where you live. SLOW DOWN.
3rd, are the tires at their max load? Running tires at or near their max load and at or near the max MPH is just asking for trouble.
I've put over 10,000 miles on two different sets of GY Marathons without issue. My current set of GYs have 10,000 miles on them and they look good for another 3-4,000 miles easy. I never go over 65 mph, am way under my load rating and always air up to max psi of 65. Keep then covered when not in use.
Many, many 1000's of TT/5th wheels are sold every year. There's bound to be some problems with tires.

I think your #3 is a big factor. Manufacturers seem to put just minimum capacity running gear (axles, tires, wheels, brakes) on trailers. Going up a tire size and/or load rating will give some margin and probably help your tires last longer, even the cheaper tires. You may have to replace the wheels too, tho.

I would say that's probably why my tires have lasted so long. My current 5th wheel weighs 7300lbs on the axles. My tires (225/75/15D) have 715lbs in reserve load capacity each.
Our previous TT had the same tires and had about 6500lbs on the axles.

I wish they just offered an option. If you want to pay a little extra for better skins and piece of mind then you should be able to.
It's a big money hit to take off brand new tires and pay full retail on another brand new set.

I understand that it is a option to upgrade tires on some lines.

I have 2013 14" Westlake Tires (China made) and they do perform well. Towmax on a former TT had no problems either. I keep the speed at 100 Km/63 miles or below and check tires with each stop. I usual wear my tires before replacement.
Seems units over 8500 lbs. have more problems.

I am another fan of Maxxis Tires. We had them put on our previous trailer in 2014. Took a 5600 mile to Michigan and back with no issues.

I am still a guinea pig for the stock Rainier tires that came on our 2015 White Hawk. They have 6000 miles on them from last year's trip to Ohio and also no problems.

My Towmax blew out last August (2 years old). Limped back home and put on 4 brand new Summitt tires. Very happy with handling and ride of the new tires.

I agree. When MSRP is $46,000.00 - it should include quality tires.

My former trailer came with D rated tires. After a couple blowouts I upgraded to load range E trailer tires. After a couple more blowouts I switched to LT tires. Not one single problem after that. Ever! I always checked pressure before each trip. My camper was not above GVWR either and D's were sufficient for that load. I generally ran at 65 mph. I think ST tires are garbage, generally speaking. There may be one or two good ones, but you really have to hunt for them. The LT's I bought was whatever brand they had in stock that was reasonable. Those held up just fine. I think ST's get away with too much and people just accept failure as a fact of trailer life. I even see it here where people blame it in inflation, speed or load or just bad luck. I believe it happens without those abuses and happens often. Not so in vehicles, I'm sure the Firestone incident helped that.

While I'm not saying replace your tires the instant you bring it home, but I would strongly suggest replacing them at the very first sign of any uneven or unusual wear. I'll never buy an ST tire ever again.

I put on 10k on my Towmax on the 27.5bhs ht with no problems as far as blowouts. Had weird wearing on them. Checked tire pressure before every drive and kept them at max pressure. Both tires on the passenger side wore like this with BOTH the inside shoulder wearing way down compared to the center....like they were ran at low pressures which is absolutely not the case. Don't know what else would cause that wear....

I could only suggest weighing each side individually - as in passenger side and drivers side - or each set of tires to see if you have more weight on one side.

Those are all good points. But when you have an RV with tires close to their maximum weight load you don't have many options. My Towmax tires were rated for 3520 lbs. The new tires goodyear Marathons I put on are right in the same weight capacity. The RV has a GVW max of 14449 lbs. The axles are rated for 7000 lbs. If I went to a tire such as G624 the axle is still the same. The trailer would be overloaded if it was not for the de-rating of the weight because it is calculated on 20% of the weight is carried on the truck. Now you have to depend on the tires to perform under max load.

Less the wear this is what my bad tire looked like and alarmed me to dig in deeper. Then I found the blisters on the inside as well.

I went to the Sailuns. Hopefully, that will eliminate any tire issues. Before driving I'd inspect the tires and look at all sides. Never noticed any other issues except the abnormal wear on the passenger side tires. Driver side was wearing fine. This trailer loaded is only a bit over 9k.

Funny that Saliun's are manufactured by TBC who Towmax comes from as well. I know several on the G rated series and have had very good luck with them.
