Wheel skirt screw holes busted & cracked

2003 model 27.5 Eagle.

The screw holes in the wheel skirts are all busting or cracking around the screws. This on a unit with less than 50k miles on it indicates a fault in the design or construction of these body parts. If that is the case then my guess is quite a few other folks out there have had the same problem. My local dealer is checking with Jayco regarding availablity and cost for replacements. Anybody else out there run into this ??

I've had a few of mine crack, but it doesn't seem serious so far. What irritated me more is that the screw heads eventually start to rust and stain the skirt. I resolved that issue by swapping them out for stainless steel screws.

I haven't seen the problem on my TT. Is it possible someone has over-tightened the screws holding the skirts on?

I've found several exterior attachment screws that were over-tightened at the factory, resulting in stripping out the material they were screwed into. Affected were a clearance light, my roof ladder, and a storage compartment "hold open" latch. I'll bet there are more. Either Jayco does not use torque controlled tools, or they are not adjusted properly.
