Unhappy Where to start (slide inop)

So we just returned from 4 days camp, the last two days drenched in the storm that swept over the south. Just got home and decided everything needed to be opened up/aired out.

Well one slide (closed) just clicks, no movement. Running the switch the other way gives the normal ratchet sound, going the opposite way does turn the motor but I'm guessing its not engaging the screw? Nothing observed in the travel path.

At this point, approaching dark, I don't even know where the motor is.

Any helpful hints or tips for me to consider tomorrow?

08 Jayco 29.5 RLS.

Thank you.

Look in the owners manual. I remember in mine there are instructions as to where you can to try and open manually.

Are you plugged into 120v or trying on battery power? If not plugged in, may be a battery problem.

Off to bed but thought first I'd check in.

Manuals? Men don't need manuals. (But I had planned on pulling them out tomorrow, if need be).

The AC power is online to the fifth.

I had this happen on small living slide just before warranty expired, had DW push button and I pushed on it really hard and got the gears to catch and slide on in.

I enlisted my bride to try this at the time. I can only rock it up/down, nothing side to side.

I'm still waiting for the ground to dry up a bit before crawling underneath it. I do know its completely covered and will require many screws be removed just to access it.

There should be a panel that allows access to drive the motor manually with a ratchet drive. It will take a while. Perhaps a local dealer might have a motor on hand to replace with.

This evening I recharged my cordless screwdriver - anticipating climbing underneath it tomorrow. During my earlier look-see I saw no access panels so am guessing its above the liner. As previously mentioned, the motor is operating, just not driving the slide.

I've never worked on one before but am guessing (maybe) the drive and screw rely on a shear pin, and it broke?

What I'd do

Have the VIN in hand and call Jayco. They have been very helpful for me in the past.
