Why or Why not make front jacks easier.
Or perhaps someone has made it easier and someone needs to teach me the trick.
I'm 65 with a bad back. I bought a 5th wheel, in part, so I didn't have to mess with the leveling bars, sway bar, hitch block - all of which require considerable bending.
I just leave my 5th wheel hitch in the truck. If I HAVE to take it out to use the truck bed, I have a winch mounted in the garage ceiling.
SO - I can hitch and unhitch my 5th wheel while standing up. In fact I can pretty much do a complete camp setup / teardown without getting down. The only possible exception is placing the chocks, but I can kick them in place with my foot.
EXCEPT for those pesky front jacks. THOSE require that I get down on one knee (not easy with my knees) and fight with the pin, raise or lower the fairly heavy foot (my wife can't do it).
WHY?
Surely the RV industry can design a front jack system with enough stroke to make this un-necessary.
I should say I have the Lippert Level-up 4 point system.

BuddyRay
Try NOT messing with the pin in your front jacks.....all I do is put wood blocks under mine and press auto level.
I can't take credit for it.......thanks to klassic

They don't do it this way on the electric jacks because of two reasons.
A) Tremendously long time / wear / battery draw to run the legs down fully with the E motor.
B) Joe Avg Camper will complain about having to stand there for 10 min holding a button when Joe Avg can just pull pin and drop the legs 12"
C) Pin system gives side to side adjustment without huge amounts of cribbing and blocking.
I would suggest if this is a large issue for you, to upgrade to hydraulic front landing legs.

OK, but my point is - this is America, land of creative engineers and money hungry entrepreneurs (I know, I was one!).
There has to be an easy solution. Having an arm on the end of the jack that swings down via a cam type action when the motor starts to extend the leg is one idea.
Lippert seems to build everything else - surely they can solve this simple problem.

Pinless hydro is the best.
Use a rod with a ring on it to pull the quick pins on your landing gear legs. That way you don't have to bend or kneel down.
I absolutely hate tubed landing gear. Guessing game on adjustment and sloppy. Not to mention not self leveling.
I'm sure if there was a cost effective way to change the pinned legs, they would of done it years ago.

Ahhhh yes, creative engineers... Who have to eat. Which means they have to earn money. Which means they have to engineer things that the consumer is willing to buy.
To run something through R&D and engineering it has to appeal to MANY consumers to be profitable.
Unfortunately, one person, or ten people, does not a profitable design make.

Well BuddyRay...looks like you are ready for a complete hydraulic leveling system.
Next rig. Top of your must haves.

Maybe something like this could be modified
Not sure if they are high enough capacity or meant for square tubes. Maybe reaching out to them, they may see the market and design something you could test for them. https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories...Fd5LDQodzhoMEQ
