Wider bodies coming

This is some really big news (pun intended). Assuming they don’t slap Schwinteks on them, the deeper slides could cause me trade up...

Yea, they can go ahead and remove that rule, but do you think the manufacturers will increase axle and chassis carrying capacity? Will they not use China Bomb tires?

Answer - When pigs fly!

Um, didn’t Jayco already address running gear with proper sized Dexter axles and Goodyear Beast tires?

Some manufacturers will still find a way to make pigs fly with these heavier units.

Has anyone tore into their trailer? I bet I could shave 1000lbs out of mine as it rolls down the line and the money it would save per trailer,.... give me the savings and I'd retire in a year.

Huh. Never knew about the size rule.

But with the right running gear and TV, why not?

One of the reasons we chose our rig was the bedroom space afforded by the slide within a
Slide. There is walk-around space for two at the foot of a king bed, and that is with the ottoman at the foot of the bed as well. It’s a bigger deal with 4 small dogs and 4 cats.

Exactly. This is my biggest gripe with our 377, not a lot of master bedroom space, and that's because of this RVIA rule.

The fact that they can now use a deeper slide may be a reason to trade up for me, assuming they do it right. Or maybe they can add an opposing one in the master.

The body width of the 377 doesn't allow for deeper slides (or longer ones for that matter) anywhere else but the master. The other ones are maxxed out in the interior when closed.

I guess they could add one in the hallway. Hah.

They did. Our entire upstairs hallway is filled in and blocked off by the retracted bedroom slide. The slide contains washer and dryer. Bathroom cannot be accessed with slide closed :-(

I meant on the 377. That's the only wall that doesn't have a slide, except for the one wall of the master.

Can't see them ever putting a slide in the bathroom of a 377 with all the plumbing that would need to be dealt with...

Been to an RV show recently? I'm amazed at the wide bodies I see there, and wonder how they can fit in an RV. Ironically, they are usually looking in the ultra-light campers. Again... I'm amazed.
