Window crank won’t work

Hello and happy Independence Day everyone! One of the crank window hinges is not working. We turn it and nothing happens we tried WD-40 with no results. We think maybe the little teeth are not engaging in the gears? The window is stuck open currently.

Year and model of the camper will help get much better answers.

Whats the year of the RV, is it old?

Jalousie crank windows used in older RVs can require several cranks to get them going. If the handle is plastic it can be stripped.

What if you very slightly push in on the window from outside while someone else cranks, does that help?

What dx said, by pushing on the window it may reengage the gear.

Could be the gears. In the past, all of the failures I have had are the plastic knob is stripped. Easy to check, one screw and pull off.

THANKS everyone! I apologize for not replying previously. You all had such good ideas. The plastic knob was the problem. As soon as we removed it, the window closed. Ordering a surplus for future needs.
Appreciate the help.
