Window shades

I have one window shade in which the cord that the shade slides up and down on has frayed to the point the window shade jams when you try and open it.
Does anyone know if its possible to replace the shade cord or is it new shade time? Thanks

Easy to repair if you are patient and handy. Google it for many videos and info. Here is one:

I read where some people have used 100 lb braided fishing line to restring instead of replacement cords/strings. I have the same problem on a few of shades, and I am going to try the fishing line. One poster said he was going on 5 years with the fishing line and hasn't had a problem. I on the other hand have a 2012 Pinnacle that I feel the strings shouldn't have frayed already, so I decided I'm going to try the fishing line.

Fishing line sounds like a great idea. Our shades are only a couple of years old and failing already.
