Winterizing Pinnicle Best Way

I am going to winterize my Pinnicle this weekend. In my Travel Trailer I just pumped Antifreeze in and turned on faucet by Faucet until the red juice came out. Is it the same way with the Pinnicle ?

Or do you have to blow the lines out first ? If so what compressor did you buy for this ?

I always blow out all the water I can first, then winterize with RV antifreeze.
I use my large air compressor in my garage and set on on 40PSI. I usually need about 4 gallons of antifreeze. Open every hot and cold valve individually until you see the antifreeze coming out. If you have a residential refrigerator it need to be done per the manufacture's directions. Don't forget the washer lines, don't forget the SaniCon if you have one and don't forget the black tank flush lines. After I have everything winterized I open all the low point drains again and leave them open. I am sure I forgot something, I am sure others will chime in.

I have the residential refridgerator, however I never turned the water on under the sink for that to run to fridge. So no water has ever went to the icemaker. So I should not have to do anything there right ?

Sounds about right. I found a video on the anti freeze winterizing method for a pinnacle. I’d disregard the fluid through the fridge portion of the video.

How do you guys configure the panel when blowing out the lines? I followed the manual putting the valves at 45 degree angles, but I’m not convinced.

You should be OK as long as the valve has not leaked any water into the line. I got my RV in the month of October and did not turn on the water to the refrigerator the first winter and did not winterize it either. All this depends on the line never being opened at anytime. Not sure of your rigs history...

Could the dealer have turned it on to test the install and ice maker function? Probably not but maybe your dealer is better than most.😏

I bought it new in 2019 and it has never been turned on.

My dealer is worst then most. I pushed the water dispenser and nothing at all.

I put them at 45 degrees when I am finished

I first blow the lines out on city water setting, then again on winterize setting. I use winterize setting for putting in all the antifreeze

Thanks. I thought of doing that but figured with no hot water bypass it would be hard to pressurize the lines with my 6 gallon tank as part of the system.

When you set a Pinnacle to Winterize it bypasses the water heater.

The 2019 owners manual tells you to put the 4 valves at 45 degrees when blowing the system out with air. It states that you can damage the valves if it is set at city setting . Putting them at 45 degrees takes a long time to purge the system and allot of air.

I just went thru this process yesterday with my new winterized Pinnacle I picked up week before last. I want to de-winterize as I’m taking the RV to Elkhart next week to go thru the Jayco factory tour for Pinnacle and North point. I prefer the blowout/air method vs filling the lines with antifreeze. initially used the 45 degree method (with low point drains open and HW plug out) and got about 3 pints of slightly pink water, then reset to the city water, put the HW plug in and closed the low point drains turned the air on, opened each faucet until I got nothing but air from each. Finished, opened the low point drains and got another 3+/- pints of pinkish water. I feel confident heading into the cold next week that nothing is in the lines to freeze and that there is still pink stuff in the traps. I will need to run fresh water thru the lines when I arrive and put the water filter in for showering and such. We don’t intend to drink the water now and will simply have to blow the lines lines out when we get back, empty the HW until we depart for south Texas mid-December.

I put the valves at 45 degrees and it took over 15 min to clear the lines. I have a 13 gal compressor and it would not keep up. After that I set the valves for city water, closed all low point drains, adjusted the compressor for only 20 psi and opened each faucet one by one to finish the process. I then opened my residential frig valve and purged the frig.

Found my problem. The line going from control panel to water pump is kinked in half. Pic is below. Have sppointment with dealer on Dec. 10. Will run furnace until then.

Pinnacle 42’ 5w. After getting charged $200 to winterize it, NEVER AGAIN! It is the dog & pony show to get antifreeze to the ice maker that cost. The tech had an AC cord with a couple spade connectors at the end of the 3’ pigtail. The refrig would be unplugged and that device plugged in and the two spade connectors would be removed from the connection and the spade connectors on the pig tail plugged in to power the anti freeze up the line to the ice maker.

So from now on I will simply keep the water valve off to the ice maker (under the stove pulling the drawer completely out. You would think they would have made it easier.) I will just buy ice and put it in the freezer from now on.
