Indiana now has a tentative campground opening date of May 24th. Yes, right smack dab in the middle of Memorial Day weekend. I'm not holding my breath.

Arkansas SP's now open to out of staters unless your from one of the hot spot states. We have reservations at Withrow Springs starting June 4th. I made the reservation back in early Jan and lately thought is was a no go.

Florida SPa are taking camping reservations, starting this weekend, the 16th.

We have already booked...

And they just cancelled our booking, so I guess the parks are not reopening after all, but nobody told ReserveAmerica, who are still showing availability and reserved spaces for this weekend.
I wish we could go back to dealing with the parks themselves.

I'm following-up on my follow-up to my own post...LOL

The latest from the Florida DEP is that most state parks will be open for day use, but NOT camping, until at least May 20th

https://www.floridastateparks.org/learn/safety-updates

Note that this conflicts with details shown by ReserveAmerica, who are offering available sites and showing reservations, as of today, the 16th. They were quite happy to take money from us for a reservation, then cancelled it within an hour or so..... the charge to my card went through instantly, but no sign of a refund, some days later, so apparently I'm lending them the money at their convenience.

I suggest actually calling the park before trying to book with RA

My google-fu may be slipping, but I’m having trouble figuring out if the Nation Forest campgrounds in the Big Horns of Wyoming are currently closed due to seasonal reasons or covid reasons. The rec.gov website is a little lacking. Anyone have any insight on this?

I would say "seasonal" based on a check (today) of the web site (recreation.gov). I found Leigh Creek CG opens May 22 and Doyle Creek CG opens on June 5th. Other Bighorn National Forest CG's may differ.

Thanks Bob. I’m trying to rebuild a trip that had me in MT by shifting towards WY, and as a result the Big Horns are on my short list. I’m beginning to lose hope that MT will drop the 14 day quarantine on non-residents any time soon.

In the same boat. When I called the Montana governor’s office late last Wednesday, they said they had no idea when the quarantine will be lifted. Just that it will be when the threat has passed.

That’s good to hear about NJ.

As I’m reworking a trip I mentioned a few posts above, the last piece of my puzzle is Wyoming. Wyoming has all state parks closed to non-residents. I’m hoping once the holiday weekend is passed that’ll change.

Campground Closing information due to the Corona Virus

As of May 27, 9am, most TX State Parks are open for overnight camping for new arrivals Jun 1 - Sep 7, but at max 50% capacity. So good luck finding a spot. You must reserve online only, no walkup’s. Same for day use still, reserve online is mandatory ahead of time.

If you hear of an update as to when non-WV residents can use the parks, please let me know. There are some areas around New River Gorge that we would like to visit.

Absolutely beautiful area. One of the places that I would consider moving if I ever left PA.
