Others do NOT survive due to their "affects whom" makeup; over 700,000 here in US. They, we may NEED the vaccine.

Was un-vaccinated 11 days in the hospital better than vaccinated 0 days?

"People who took the vaccine are still being infected"- yes, but the infection is near always minor, again understand the "affects whom".

"They hadn't been vaccinated either, which just goes to show the "science" isn't all that scientific."- Your defining "science" as 3 people sitting around chatting and cross infecting each other? Look up how the vaccines were developed and how quickly; thats science.
LOL!!

It's ok as long as the discussions remain civil and doesn't go off-topic. There's two "stickies" here to help guide the posts.

Thanks, but it's not worth the effort to engage in these conversations. I shared my personal experience, and that's all I intended to do.

That being said, it does amaze me that no other disease/illness/virus in the history of mankind has ever been so politicized. Trump fast tracks a vaccine, the Democrats warn it's not safe. Trump loses the election, the Democrats say it's perfectly safe to the point of being mandated with no say in the matter.

It makes me wonder where things would stand with this vaccine had Trump been reelected. As my good friend, Forrest Gum...p, would say, that's all I have to say about that.

The number of people lost to this virus is heartbreaking. It’s just to bad there’s not a source we can believe/trust for guidance.

It's a road I don't want to go down either. As the road, on other social platforms, inevitably degrades quickly.

Keeping an open mind is essential. I believe all sides need to do so. I'm neither virologist nor immunologist but have been listening and learning as much as I can over these last 20 months.

I believe it'll be about 3 years more before the science settles on this. Before we have a scientific consensus on many things Covid-19. Good science takes time.

There was a quote from a Doctor that I saw and liked. He basically said "Remember, we're learning about this virus and Covid in 'real-time.":

--------------
“The main question is how long the immunologic protection against SARS-CoV-2, which causes COVID-19, lasts,” says Albert Shaw, MD, PhD, a Yale Medicine infectious disease specialist. “And since we are learning about COVID-19 in real time, this is hard to know.

“The booster question is being worked out as we speak,” Dr. Shaw says, noting that the open possibility of the need for a booster shot doesn’t represent a failure of the existing vaccines. “People get confused—or they think something is wrong—when guidance changes with COVID-19, but we have to remember that we are learning about this as we go."
----------------
Ignore the context about boosters, his point that guidance changes is what I liked.

The scientists have rules: experiments are run, results/conclusions are to be submitted to a (respected) peer-reviewed journal where other scientists review the paper. If the "peers" feel the experiment and results were done well, then the paper is published.

Those are the rules that anyone who's in science signed up for when they picked that career.

That path takes weeks, often several months.
We, the public, refuse to wait. And we end up reading about pre-prints in the newspapers. Or we get our science from a social media post.

We can't have both, in my opinion.
Either we wait for the peer-reviewed papers to get printed, or we accept the fact that what we read is preliminary and may change.
