That's the biggest issue with a RNA virus. By the time they figure out a vaccine 6+ months later, the virus has mutated to a different strain, and the old vaccine isn't effective. It's always a moving target.

That's why I think there's way too much focus on a vaccine being the cure-all.

if you aren't seeing that after the mask debacle that the next step is to require a vaccine to move about, buy something, go somewhere you will have been woke....
I am honestly not sure what you are trying to ask me, but am increasingly sure I can't answer you regardless.

To be sure, it's not likely to be a cure all. It's one part of a complex solution and treatment.

You are correct.

Polio is a viral disease wherein the Poliovirus enters the body, typically through the mouth. Even still, it's transmission seems to be far more rare than that of COVID-19.

Two doses of the common IPV are more than 90% effective against polio. Three doses are 99% to 100% effective.

if you wear a mask, that's OK, if it works, don't worry about if I wear one or not,, like they say, my body my choice

so your choice is to assault others - I hope not? Masks are designed to prevent YOU from transmitting disease.

One of the traits of adolescence is to insist on freedom without acknowledging responsibility.

And generally that is the problem today. All about me and to hell with the rest of the population.

Your argument does not address the specific, and often stated reasons for wearing a mask, ie, preventing the wearer from spreading, rather than contracting the virus. But you likely know that.

In addition, your analogy is specious. I think you know that too.
