Please explain

As a Canadian I cannot drive across the border to spend the winter in the desert BUT I can ship my truck and trailer across and book a flight for myself, picking up my Truck/trailer on the US side... makes no sense to me...

Considering the electoral chaos we are enduring down here I doubt that any of us can explain the lack of common sense in governmental decisions.

But on the other hand common sense has never been required of a politician.

It is quite obvious the woo flu loves camping. So by shipping your rig it starves to death on the way. And when you fly you have to wear the magical mask so the virus knows to stay away from you.

I really think the CA govt is more concerned about you coming down than the US govt.

I don't think it is the coming down as much as the going back that concerns Canada. Their infection rate is pretty low compared to ours. That could change if all the Canadian snowbirds came down, and then went back later.

Yep... and everything closes at 10pm as the virus sleeps until 0600. (Sarcasm)

You're screened at the airport but not at the border is my guess.
But why would anyone want to come to the US and join in all the reckless behavior?

In order to limit the further spread of coronavirus, the U.S. has reached agreements with both Canada and Mexico to limit all non-essential travel across borders. Working closely and collaboratively, the Department of Homeland Security is part of a North American approach to stop the spread of the virus.
