Preparing for a state lockdown

So NJ will be joining the other states with an order to remain in your homes except for non-essential business starting at 9PM today. Given the way things are going, it seems like this wlll be measured in months, not weeks.

DW and I ran out to the rig and took it on a good 40 mile spin, ran the generator w/ the heat pump running, etc. Put her back to bed, and wondered when we’ll be able to take her back out.

Spring is coming but it might as well be winter.

So sad - we slog through months of winter and downtime to get to the point where you get excited to get back out there and enjoy life. Now - who knows? We sit and watch the numbers go up and pray for the day they start to go down.

Until than? At least I got her some exercise right up until the final tick of the clock.

Bummed in NJ.

In NJ also. Look fwd to our 1st annual trip every yr coming in April and it's looking like we will have to severely compromise or delay it. We already had 1 state park in SC cancel on us.

With the number of people commuting to and from NJ and NY I'm surprised NJ held out this long. I imaging PA, especially Philly, will follow soon.

Washington state has been locked for awhile. I took the Redhawk out of the storage unit today (keycard, touched no one), brought it home and parked in the alley to drain the antifreeze and try out the water system. Saw no one, talked to no one and touched no one. Finished the water system (I hope as this is the first time for me) and went to the gas station to fill up the beast. Drove around to warm up everything and then back to the storage unit.

The purpose of the stay at home thing is to limit interaction with other people in close quarters. If your the only one in your RV you are not interacting with anyone. Go drive and enjoy.

Our Governor specifically stated he wants everybody off the road unless its for essential business. Now, how they enforce that I don’t know. However, its hard to pitch/sell ‘essential business’ puttering around in a RV !

I personally find it essential to my well-being, but that’s just me.

Go for a drive
Go for a walk or hike
Sheltering in place can be like normal retirement if you can be dispersed.

The first senior hours at the grocery are Tuesday at six am.. The last March Snowstorm will be Tuesday at ! am through all day This might be dicey.

The police have no authority to stop some one for "driving around" as the governor's wish is not state law. Regardless, enjoy your time alone.

Was thinking of just booking a KOA in DE or VA so that we are close enough to be able to return quickly if needed. Just to get away from this and unplug for a while. Even if they shut down while we are there we could just roll out and go anywhere else and boondock.

If a declared state of emergency is in effect......it gives authorities all sorts of new powers.....they might just have the right to stop you just because!

No, no, no,... you're looking at this all wrong. This is a good thing for you guys. Get that rig all filled with fuel, park it at the house and you guys will be camping for weeks or months. Enjoy it!
We get locked down, my 5er is already at my house. I'll pull it 40' from along side the house into the driveway, connect things up and camp like its 1999! Lol!

We have 16 more minutes, as of right now. Use it wisely.

We had our first trip booked for April, which got cancelled. I hear ya.

Worse, we had a anniversary cruise scheduled for May, that also got flushed. I'm pissed about that one!!!

Maybe we can't take turns driving back and forth between our houses??

Hellwigs adjusted, front bar on, one handed driving up to 60 on Route 70 between 539 and 571. Can’t complain and that’s before the alignment and the upgraded steering damper.
