Question 2007 Jayco Seneca sewer hose opening in basement compartment

I have a new to me 2007 Jayco Seneca motorhome and there's an opening in the water/sewer compartment for the sewer hose the slip through to the outside, so the compartment door can be shut.

My problem is - because of the sewer connectors, I can't fit my sewer hose though the opening. Do I need to modify the hose or the opening, or am I missing something???

TIA
Margaret

It should fit thru the opening if you take the coupling off of the sewer hose, feed it thru and then put the coupling back on.
