2016 37TS Seneca Range Inhibit

Hs anyone experience a Range inhibit light with a code

SA: 3 Trans
SPN: 785
FMI: 14

Any insight and solution would be great...

While it never has happened to me I did have a friend that had a unit with our same Allison 2500MH transmission that had their range inhibit warning come on and the transmission would not shift into the top gears. They called an Allison service center and were told to try disconnecting the chassis batteries (under the driver's seat behind the cover in our units), leave them off for a minute or so, then reconnect. Like so many things today the transmission is computer controlled and cutting power "resets" the brains. In my friend's case it cleared the issue and it shifted fine. Have not heard it recurred but it has been a while since I talked to him.

It is worth a shot, only takes 15 minutes or so and some elbow grease. But do be careful to remove the negative connections so you don't hit something grounded and weld your tool to something! Not a lot of space to work in there!
