2016 Jayco Seneca HJ Heater issue

This is Snowgoose,

I am new to RVing and purchased my first used 2016 Seneca Class C.

My issue is when I turn on heating system to electric heating it runs for
30 minutes then shuts off and fan keeps running, but no heat.

Gas heating works great.

Am I doing something wrong?

Any suggestions?

I'll assume when you say "electric heating" that means with the Heat Pump's on the ceiling? If so, they will only work until it gets to about +40F - when it gets colder, the Propane heater has to do the work.

Oh... and welcome to the Seneca family on JOF!

That makes a lot of sense. could not find anything in the manual.

Very new to RVing.
Like the Jayco Seneca a lot.

Thank you for your response.

Do you have the thermostat set to AUTO. If not, the fan will run continuously regardless of whether or not the thermostat is calling for heat.

Also note that only one thermostat is hooked up to the propane heater. That being said, if the temperature outside is going to be down in the 40's, make sure you only use the heat pump that is on the same thermostat as the propane. If you use the other one, the heat pump will start blowing cold air, but because the propane heater is heating up the RV via the main thermostat, the other thermostat never shuts down the heat pump blowing cold air, because the thermostat still sees a warm rv and keeps it going. If you leave the other thermostat off, the propane heater does not have to fight a cold blowing heat pump.
