2016 Seneca RB Furnace Problems

Hello All,

The furnace stopped running sometime during the night. All was running properly when I retired, woke up to a very chilly RV. Now I have no furnace function when I call for it via the thermostat. No fan running, no ignition. Nothing. I'm guessing some sort of a 12 Volt power issue. I checked the bedroom fuse panel and all looks good there.

Does anyone have suggestions? Thermostat problem? Thermostat does properly control the air conditioners and the electric heat function so I lean away from a thermostat issue.

Thanks in advance

steve

Have you checked the propane system to make sure everything is good there? Stove lights and burns okay? Water heater good on propane?

If all that is good, you may have to remove the outside cover and check the circuit board for errors. It has a red LED that will flash error codes if it senses a problem.

I forgot to also mention there is a reset switch/circuit breaker outside on the unit accessed through the outside cover. It is like an on-off toggle switch, but it incorporates a circuit breaker too.

Two weeks after picking our new unit up we took it to the Rockies for a long weekend. Friday night every thing worked, Saturday afternoon it got cooler outside. Woke up Sunday morning to see our breath, four inches of fresh snow and no heat. Did all the things Robbbyr mentioned and found a red led flashing three times then stop then flash again. We shut power off reset everything , no heat and led still flashing. Needless to say it cut the weekend short. The dealer replaced the thermostat and circuit smart board ? We have had a litany of furnace issues but may have found the problem last trip out. It would always short cycle taking 1-2 hours to reach set point on stat. I found out the dealer always had shore plugged in when testing and it always worked fine, when they went to battery's only, all the symptoms came back. Batteries checked good ,voltage seemed good, they solved the problem by putting an extra ground from the furnace to the frame. If anyone's furnace short cycles on and off a lot this may help.

thanks for your reply and ideas. I am away from the RV for a few days but will check out your suggestions as soon as I get back on the road.

Will post a result.

Good one to squirrel away. My Atwood LED was blinking "once per second". A new sail switch seemed to fix it.
