2017 seneca 37ts electrical ?

The other day I was moving the cables on my house batteries so I could install a watering system. When I removed the negative cables from the post that has 3 cables attached I got a spark. The top cable of the 3 is the one that goes to the inverter.
Why do I get a spark on a negative terminal??

Because the inverter was on and you were acting as a switch.
