I would say if you can have them balanced then do so. That's my general position on ALL tires. My alignment shop would not balance the rears, but they balanced and trued the fronts and it helped.
I'm looking at Centramatic balancers for my rig. Similar in concept to the beads SloPoke mentioned, but uses a plate mounted to the hub (or between the duallies on the rear) and ball bearings suspended in oil in a "racetrack" around the outer perimeter.
The way I see it, my rig sits still for long periods of time (unfortunately), so I'd like to install something that will auto-balance the wheel/tire/hub assembly at all times as the tire wears and changes over time.
