2022 37K 12volt fridge/freezer

Just thought I would share my 12 volt fridge/freezer. I wanted one for this compartment but could not get passed the $1200 and waste of space in the front compartment from OEM This is Joytus 26L holds 30 cans of beer(soda does not fit for some reason). I had a 120 volt receptacle run for my central vacuum, which in this picture I am using. I tested against the OEM 12 volt cigarette lighter pre-installed. On 12 volt cigarette adapter fridge runs off of chassis batteries, thought it would have run off of house, but I guess that’s because inverter runs fridge, microwave, and some outlets off of chassis.

As you can see it saves a lot of space. $219 on sale on Amazon, went from101 to 36 degrees in 20 minutes.

They work great... the only downside we have with ours is venting the storage bay it is running in. It generates a bunch of heat that gets trapped inside of the storage compartment.

Hope your luck is as good as mine. My 1979 NORCOLD is still running strong.

I have to say they are amazing! We have the Norcold (Engle) Tek II that my parents used in the 90's full time in their Alpha Gold. They handed that down to me and it continues to be the oldest appliance we have. We even purchased a second one a few years ago on craigslist. Identical results!

This is the model we have:

We've got a MRFT-630. My wife was a little reluctant when I said I wanted to buy it due to the price back then. Luckily I was working for an appliance store part time and got it for cost.

I have been using the Iceco JP40, fits perfect without the handles installed. Works great as a fridge or freezer.

They were absurdly expensive back then... but now that we look back, worth every dollar spent. I picked up our second one for a deal, since we know how well they work. The one in the Toyota has been across the USA in that spot, we added a second battery to power it and the other electronics overnight.
