2022 S2RV cab keyless entry
I have a brand new 2022 accolade xl that I’d like to unlock the cab driver and passenger doors with a remote.
My wife and I will be doing a cab make over project - calling it Project ‘Cab Boom’ since I will be sound deadening the floor and firewall, plugging every hole i can find, and adding an amp, speakers, and a sub.
Has anyone gotten this setup? What product did you use? Any issues to be aware of?

I put one in when I first got my 2018.5. Went cheap, walmart, it lasted 2 weeks. pulled it out and threw it away.
I suggest you don't go cheap.
Installing it was not the easiest. I am trying to remember, but I think I had to put in a relay because of the same wire using reverse polarity to the coil.
It might be something worth paying the man.

There are a couple of threads here that address these issues about excessive noise. I'm horrible at using search but you can try, especially mirror noise.
I've just ordered a box of Kilmat (36 sq ft, 3.4 m²) and am going to be using some self stick indoor/outdoor carpet squares for the cab. I haven't decided on the inside if the doors yet.
I would really like a quality keyless door system but the existing door lock are tough to work with but there is a company that seems to do this too. Pricey.

I installed an AutoLoc KL550 on my 2014 when new, still works great! You use the "reverse polarity" wiring diagram and it all is behind the center dash area. I wired it into the parking/running light circuit so I get confirmation flashes when I lock/unlock the rig.

Yeah I’ve got the train whistle really bad over 50mph. It’s near constant. Will be going through the full firewall review to find what I can.
On the engine noise I’m going to try the Siless 80mil butyl on the bare metal in the cab and doors with a second layer of 157mil ccf. Hopefully that cuts some of the engine noise down.

Thanks for that! I’ll give this a try…
I am going to use the parking circuit too! Thanks for the idea!
Did you hook up the ignition kill?

I did not, did not want to mess with any of that wiring.
I tapped into the headlight switch parking/running light output terminal, our headlight switch does not actually switch the current, it tells a module to actually turn on the lights. Our headlight switches actually have tiny wires, unlike other vehicles that the switch carries the full current. But the lock module sends voltage pulses to that circuit and the module responds and blinks the light. 8 years and counting and still working fine. About every 2 years I have to change the batteries in the remotes.

You definitely get what you pay for, mine from Walmart was $14 :- )
That is why I had to throw it in the trash after two weeks.
I might try again and use this one.... I like what I see.

I could be completely in error but we don't have solenoids on our door latches (2022) and these will be needed.

I came across this write up that somebody did on installing keyless entry on an M2. I have never got around to it though.

You don't have a dash door lock switch?

My 2018.5 has power door locks, just no remote.

On the 2022 Accolade, the doors have electric locks so I think the solenoids are there. I can’t speak for other models.

Wow, I just went to check and that button does work. That makes putting in a remote setup far easier.

@Robbbyr - did you supply your own relays for the unlock/lock and parking light setups?

After looking back at my installation I did have to use a relay for the parking/clearance lights since the output from the KL550 module is a GROUND when activated. So I did wire in a traditional automotive relay and the KL550 provides the ground to activate the relay. The positive output goes to the headlight switch to trigger the module to flash the lights.

But for the actual lock/unlock power the KL550 does have built-in relays for that function. No problems since I installed it, so they must be adequate to handle the current needed to operate our locks.

Hey Rusty - admiring your overhead setup. Is that a GPS unit to the right or did you move your camera monitor off the stereo head and to there? I'm pondering doing the latter as its difficult to view the monitor due to the seating angle. Also looking to use the above area for storage - maybe make some kind of console. Have you seen anyone do that? Thanks.
