Do they make tank level sensors that work?
Or is there a way to make them work?

Garnet SeeLevel system. Really work but not the easiest installation. I put them on my Seneca several years ago and they work great.

Not really...

We purchased the optional "Harbor Freight / Black Tank Gauge (Flashlight)" from Harbor Freight about five years ago... It has worked superbly... Sometimes we can find it "On Sale" for almost 50% off and sometimes even more with a coupon.

We take it and push the button on the back... It shines a bright beam and we aim it down towards the opening at the bottom of the toilet - while putting our foot on the toilet flush lever to open the valve that dumps the toilet into the black tank. We shine the thing down the toilet to see the level of poo, pee and toilet paper in the tank. If the poo and stuff is close to the top of the tank, then the tank is 1/2 to 3/4 full. If the stuff is higher than that, it is getting time to dump the black tank.

We have used this instead of the Jayco tank sensors... since we bought it!

Wow, that’s a lot of work, I just push the button on my SeeLevel panel

Mlaforge, the SeeLevel setup works great but I have not heard of anybody being able to integrate it into the Firefly panel that you would have, so you would have to monitor the tanks with the SeeLevel panels, but they do have Bluetooth available panels now.

Our 2022 37M has the dreaded coach door problems as well. It shakes at the top corner like crazy when going down the road. Maybe worse is that it will not close correctly unless you absolutely slam it. It is not as hard to close from the outside as it is from the inside. The handle is now loose on the inside because of the force and multiple attempts to close it each time. And yes, I have adjusted it as much as possible. We have a warranty claim out on it.

We use the homosapien auditory detection system.
The tank makes a different sound flushing when full :- )

BTW, has anyone tried these?
Horst Miracle Probe Sensors for RV Black Water Tanks
They are supposed to have teflon coating so they don't get a build up?

With the SeeLevel system the sensors just stick to the outside of the tank. You can even use the existing wiring to wire the new sensors.

I like this system. I will have to email them to see when they come out with one fresh, two gray and two black water on bluetooth units. Pretty soon about half of the Firefly features will not work.

I talked to them and they said they don’t plan to ever make a panel with multiple black/gray tanks, they said there were not enough units that would use them but you can try. Our 2018.5 was pre firefly and while I like technology, I’m glad I don’t have it. We have been in a couple parks where peoples systems quit and they couldn’t operate anything. Our 2018.5 came with the tanks on the main panel which the SeeLevel fit in nicely just cutting out the old one and then has]d a smaller panel in the rear bathroom. I just bought 2 kits and replaced the old panels….I did mine before the Bluetooth feature was available again, for some reason they pulled it from the market for a while.

I'm of the same opinion... I look at this from the most simplest view...

Spend $200+ on new sensors that I might use once a week, or use a flashlight once a week. We rarely ever need to check our grey levels, and can look at the fresh and black tanks as easily as looking at the sensor panel.

I am the biggest supporter of the KISS philosophy!

The Seelevel system is awesome, but to answer your question, yes. I bought both sets, for the gray and black tanks because our gray tank would read 1/3 full when empty. The black sensors are a future job because they still work right.

I found this You Tube video on an easy way to remove the old ones, and it worked slick.
