Looks like I would also have to remove a piece on the front of the cabinet that runs up/down the middle that fills the gap between the doors and also latches shut on. Any ideas on what to do here ?

I have a '14 TS, added a Splendide vented combination model to mine. We absolutely love it! Did it all ourselves, the most difficult part was lifting the unit to sit inside the cabinet. Used a transmission jack with a piece of plywood on it, raised it up to the shelf level and slid it in. Boring the vent hole was easy to do but it was painful to cut a hole through the beautiful paint job! I went so far as to order the louvered cabinet doors from Jayco (through my local dealer) to replace the non-vented doors. They were a perfect match finish-wise. I did lose the three drawers that were in the space, but I compensated by using putting other storage drawers in half of the wardrobe. We never used all of it anyway. I also added a small drawer above the machine where we store the detergent, softener, and dryer balls.
My units sits far enough back in the cabinet that the strip between the doors does not come close to hitting the washer/dryer. So no modifications were necessary to my (new) doors, and physically they were the same as the old doors except for the louvers for airflow.
I included a picture of the dryer balls we use, they help keep the clothes from wrinkling. Not overloading the machine, using the dryer balls, and promptly removing certain items when completed means little ironing.
I strongly recommend the vented version; many say they dry faster and more thouroughly.
