We had similar problems with our last coach. It had HWH auto levelers. I decided to not get auto levelers on our current motorhome. We bought it new this past April.

I put blocks under the tires when needed and use those twist type A-frame jack stands to stabilize it. I put one under each side of the tow hitch frame in the rear. The stands go on an orange plastic jack stand board I bought at a camping world.

Yes it takes a minute or two to get perfect, but it works well and will never not retract like the auto levelers would.

I am very happy with my choice.

Good luck!

Thx grumpy

As usual grumpy hit the mark and my auto jacks work 97%'. I must tap the emergency stow to get two lights out. Suspect up limit switch however like willie back on the road again

Had a issue with ours until I actually read how they are supposed to work. Just had to be patient and let them work. Turn the system on and wait until it cycles through all the lights flashing then hit auto. It levels the coach perfect everytime but can take a minute or two. Do the same thing and hit retract, that can also take 30 seconds to a minute. Found out it won't work properly unless both coach batteries are good and completely charged. It wouldn't work properly when we first got the coach so I installed a battery tender for all the batteries keeping it plugged in when not using the unit. Never had a leveler problem after that.
