Bauer Electronic Door Lock

My 2022 37k did not come with the Bauer electronic entry door lock. My wife is interested. Any comments about this lock, good or bad? Can anyone provide the Bauer part number?

We love ours but they changed doors mid 2020 and previous units had the Bauer electronic lock. I don’t think anybody is making a keyless lock that fits the new style door at this time. It’s been brought up a lot on the Facebook Seneca pages.

thanks Rustynuts. I'll let the little lady know and keep my eyes peeled. Might give Bauer a call tomorrow to see if they know anything new.

I have the Bauer lock on my 2017 Greyhawk and it basically is OK. It has a little quirk where various keys quit working when the lock is in direct sunlight for a period of time. I believe the keypad heats up and quits sensing the presence of your fingers.

This happened in the very beginning when new so I had it replaced. The new lock did the exact same thing. My wife doesn't like using the keypad (she is electronically challenged) but I still use it. It always works unless it has been sitting with the sun shinning directly on it and then it becomes iffy.

I'm replacing our current Bauer lock (which works with the touchpad but not consistently and not the way the manual says) with the newer version with Bluetooth connection to the iPhone. I haven't installed it yet but did program it at home with the phone app. It's pretty convenient to be able to just push one button to unlock it when you have your iPhone with you. A bit pricier than the non-Bluetooth keyless version, though, and ours is a 2016 29mv, so this lock might not apply to the newer units.

Is anyone making keyless locks for the newer door yet? I couldn't find any from a 20 minute Google search. I really like the ristow that has a built in fingerprint reader (assuming it works well), but they only have the smaller form factor. 2023 37L

I am fairly experienced with vehicle electronics and could not get a remote key lock system to work with my 2022. I tried a couple of different universal kits I had laying around and finally gave up.

Thanks. That is what I expected. I found a couple similar to the following (which might work), but they all require the existing calibration but, which my 2023 does not have. I may buy one to try anyway since Amazon has easy returns.

This thread was asking about the entry door lock but if you are talking about the cab doors, then this may help. This was originally done on an M2 and there are several reports about also working with the S2.

Sorry, I did confuse this for the remote lock cab doors. I tried the instructions above and could not get them to work.

Again sorry for the distraction of the OP question. I have heard they are working on a keyless lock for the entry door.

After problems with the Bauer Lock on our 2106 (eating batteries, losing codes), I pulled it off and replaced it with a normal, keyed lock.

I'm no luddite, I like gadgets. I have an auto/smart door lock at home.
But that Bauer was a total piece of work - back in 2016.

We love our keyless Bauer lock, after 4 years of use, it had issues and Bauer sent a brand new one out to us and upgraded us to the Bluetooth version. I especially like the proximity feature where when I approach with my watch or phone, it unlocks automatically. I do keep a spare cab key hidden on the coach just in case though…..one nice thing about a Super C is you have more doors
