Big slide issue
While putting in the long slide the other day, the motor was binding and slow. I finally was able to see the issue. It ripped a piece of metal off (see pic) and was stuck under the slide itself.
The slide has always rubbed on the floor, so I've used thin pieces of plastic between the slide and the floor.
As you see in the pics, that the required measurements are very close to specifications according to the documentation. It needs to go down a rch but there is no adjustment left.
I'll try to get the piece of sheet metal out, make another slightly heavier one and screw it back down.
Any other ideas? I won't take it to Bish. They'll keep it for a week or longer and not fix it.
I don't want to be bubbled on this.

if you need to you can jack the slide up about an inch or so, you can then get under the ramp and fix a new piece of metal in there. Once you jack it up put something solid under there as you don't want it settling down on your fingers. Examine the bottom of the slide as something caught the metal, most likely a loose screw head. What year is your unit, the newer ones have rollers on the ramp to help the unit glide in without this damage occurring.

I was thinking wouldn't rollers be nice when I fix this. I'll be making a new piece of metal for just this section.

We were at the factory in January having numerous items fixed (luckily right at the 2 year point) and they were going to adjust the slide since we had problems with it since we purchased it January 2022, but they discovered the whole slide is warped and they have to rebuild it. That will be done in July 2024 along with new flooring and a brand new door since it is warped terribly as well.

When we bought this, I thought I would be able to fix everything considering my background. Color me surprised, the slides have been a non stop barrel of monkeys.

I have had no trouble with the front dining room slide (PowerGear). But our rear slide is a Schwintek and is about 14' in length (bunkbed model) and is heavy. Right side consistently hangs up at 6" on the way out. Have an appt at Vroom (Tucson) in June, on our way to Alaska, for the upgrade. Luckily I made it to the 7th year of ownership before having any slide issues. However, from day one I would get apprehensive every time I operated the Schwintek slide knowing my day was coming. Good luck on getting this resolved!

Update
Well, I was able to spend some time on this issue yesterday. It's messy, it does gave three undersized rollers inset into the floor and this one in the picture is trying to tear itself off.
As you can see, it's damaging the floor and because the angle is now wrong, the slide won't close fully by about 1 1/2" .
I really don't see anyway I can fix it on my own, being that we live full time in this rig. Right now, I'm using a piece of plastic to slide it open and closed to keep from damaging the floor any more.

Update 2
Finally stopped in one place long enough to work on this. Hopefully will be able to find a replacement part.
Three of the six screws were sheered off, one pulled out and I was able to unscrew the other two.

Fixed
Managed to get the new one in and through bolted it. Not the prettiest, but it works well.
