Crankcase filter

I had a knowledgeable mechanic in camp ask when I last changed the crankcase filter. It supposedly is inside the forward/taller valve cover on the ISB6.7 Cummins. He said that a clogged filter will effect turbo lubrication and cause a failure and that the recommended interval is 67,500 miles and am currently at 75,000. There is no mention of a crankcase filter change interval in the maintenance manual. Any advise from the board? Is he referencing Ram pickups? All I've found is M2-106 through 2013 specified.

Did you try your local Dealer/Service Department? They are the experts.

Not sure about Cummins, but Ford doesn't seem to have an interval. As needed I suppose. I have 213,000 miles on mine and couldn't tell ya the last time I changed it. My tech that works on my truck says it's fine and he'll let me know when to change it.

Here's the Cummins recommendation for the 6.7ISB as installed in our units. Please remember they recommend oil changes at 15,000 miles, so that works out to 45,000 to 60,000 miles.

I've read that schedule and the entire owner's maintenance manual and still do not find a reference to interval or need to replace. Or it's existence. Many options for purchase and KLM says 67,500 replacement interval or if it throws a code.

Yes, I have a 2015 Ram, just passed 67,500 miles last trip. It is SUPER easy to do it yourself. I bought mine on Amazon (actual Mopar/Fleetguard, not a knockoff) for about $70. Its a couple of bolts to remove and then pop it out. The video takes longer than the process takes.
